Power 100 is the research and analytical arm of The British Publishing Company.

Participation within Political Power 100 is based on a number of criteria. Those invited to be included within the Power list are primarily people who, either through position or personality exercise a ignificant power that influences events and sets parameters in the conduct of their organisation, the climate of political debate and the shaping of new ideas.

This inaugural power list has a decided focus, firstly the national figures who are elected to Parliament, members of the House of Lords and maybe controversially those non-elected officials, bloggers, journalists, strategists, and lobbyists shaping the country in the shadows.
